ORA-19599 snapcf control file is corrupt

616017Sep 24 2009 — edited Sep 24 2009
Hello,

I attempted to take a Level 0 backup of my database as usual through RMAN but it failed at the very end with these messages:

RMAN-03009: failure on Control File and SPFILE Autobackup command on oem_sbt_backup1 channel at 09/24/2009 12:28:03

ORA-19599: block number 437 is corrupt in control file /u01/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1/dbs/snapcf_mysid.f

I tried deleting the snapcf_mysid.f and taking a Level 0 backup again but it failed again with the same error. What do I try next?

I am using Oracle 10.2.0.4 on RHEL4. I am using a control file and NOT a recovery catalog.

Thank you,
Mimi
