Hello All,
I was out on vacation for a while and found out that the sysadmin an upgrade on the test DR servers. So naturally check the database server and noticed there was an archive log gap because the standby database was offline too long. I proceeded to restore the standby database from the last scn and also restoring from a new standby control file. So I started up the recovery process after the restore and checked the alert log. Looking at the alert log I noticed the recovery process quit soon after got errors on the 12 standby log files.

I was looking at a couple of blogs such as Oracle Database Administration: ORA-19527: physical standby redo log must be renamed .
Couldn't I just drop the standby logs and recreate them instead?:
1) set standby_file_management=manual
2) drop all standby log groups (13-24)
3) recreate standby log goups (13-24)
I was wondering if this is also reasonable approach.
Thanks!
Thanks!
