ORA-19506 ORA-27028 ORA-19511 RMAN: Server Status: cannot connect on socket

Claudia GeisslerJan 31 2017 — edited Feb 3 2017

Hello friends,

I need help, because the Oracle 12.1.0.2.0 can not do an RMAN backup anymore. This came suddenly during productive operation. A day before it worked without any problems. Here is the total error description:

Any idea?

Why is RMAN not able to get a socket anymore?

At the same time an "sqlplus / as sysdba" does not work anymore. Only DB connects with user+PW still work so the application is running.

We have the error since we upgrated to Oracle 12 last September. We have this phenomena about every 14 days. When we restart the DB, everything is normal again.

best regards,

Claudia Geissler
