ORA-16714: The value of property StandbyFileManagement is inconsistent with

greetings all:

i installed and configured 10g grid control and set up a standby database. after setting up of standby i tried to initiate a failover using the enterprise manager GUI and i got the following errors:

ORA-16714: The value of property StandbyFileManagement is inconsistent with the database setting.
ORA-16714: The value of property ArchiveLagTarget is inconsistent with the database setting.
ORA-16714: The value of property LogArchiveMaxProcesses is inconsistent with the database setting.
ORA-16714: The value of property LogArchiveMinSucceedDest is inconsistent with the database setting.
ORA-16766: Physical apply service unexpectedly offline

with respect to the parameters, in both the production and standby they are exactly the same as the ones i see after running the following
show database verbose 'production'

the only difference is that the ones i see through the enterprise manager interface except for the separation by underscore (e.g. StandbyFileManagement is Standby_File_Management i dont know what impact this has).

I am new to grid control and have no idea regarding the ORA-16766: Physical apply service unexpectedly offline error.
