ORA-16040: standby destination archive log file is locked

Hi ,

We have a dataguard setup for 10g database on AIX platform.In the primary database alert log file,we are frequently getting this error.

ORA-16040: standby destination archive log file is locked.

From the below information from the alert log ,I could guess this is because of the network disconnect .Am I correct.If Yes,Why is this happening frequently and what precautionary measures should we take to avoid this disconnect.
