ORA-15000 when Connect to ASM with ASMSNMP

With ASM of 11g2 on Redhat 5, I tried to connect the instance with ASMSNMP but failed

[grid@cchordrdb admin]$ sqlplus / as sysasm

SQL> conn asmsnmp/asmsnmp@ASM
ERROR:
ORA-15000: command disallowed by current instance type

Is this a problme or normai?
