ORA-12704: character set mismatch workaround needed

Hi

due to the error ORA-12704: character set mismatch in a select case .... Query
I want to find an Workaround instead of converting many parameter.

is there any way to automatically convert a variable 'xxx' to a nchar for example or something like this
