ORA 12571 TNS: Packet Writer Failure

Hello everybody,

In my home PC with OS Win2k, I have installed Oracle 8i Personnel Edition & Developer 6i, Both the installations seems to be perfect. But when I connect SQLPlus from Developer side I get error (ORA 12571 TNS: Packet writer failure), As I don't have any network at my home and database and Developer 6i are on the same machine, but I tried too much to uninstall and reinstall the Oracle but useless.

But when I try from Oracle 8i SQLPlus it is working fine, only problem is with Developer 6i SQLPlus side.

I installed Oracle 9i Personnel Edition but having the same problem.

Please guide me.... Thanks
