ORA-12541: TNS:no listener error when connecting from Remote Desktop

Dear All,

I have installed Oracle 11gR2 on a windows desktop. I am able to connect to SQL from command prompt as well as using SQL Developer. However, when I am trying to connect this instance from another desktop after adding the details in TNSNAMES.ora on the remote desktop, I am getting the error - "ORA-12541: TNS:no listener".

Can you please guide me if there are any additional steps to be performed to connect the database from a remote desktop.
