ORA-12532: TNS:invalid argument

Am installing 11gR2, getting an error ORA-12532: TNS:invalid argument.

I have installed 11g grid infrastructure and the LISTENER is up and then installed 11gR2 database. Now trying to create a database by ./dbca stuck with ORA-12532: TNS:invalid argument.

Listener for grid :

grid 6391 1 0 Oct16 ? 00:00:00 /u08/11.2.0/grid/product/11.2.0/grid/bin/tnslsnr LISTENER -inherit

Is listener to be different for database and grid software ..?

Do i need to configure a listener for database as well ..?

Please suggest.
