Hi All,
I have Oracle 10g installed on linux. When I try to connect to sqlplus ,it asks me for the username and password .On providing the username and password I get the error ORA-12162 TNS:net service name is incorrectly specified.
So I checked the the listener status and it displayed a message
TNS-12541 :TNS:No listener
TNS-12560:TNS :protocol adapter error
TNS-00511:No listener
linux error :111:Connection refused
Then I tried starting the listener :lsnrctl start
and I got the followiing errors:
NL-00280: error creating log stream /u01/oracle/product/10.2.0/network/log/listener.log
NL-00278: cannot open log file
SNL-00016: snlfohd: error opening file
Linux Error: 13: Permission denied

Listener failed to start. See the error message(s) above...

I tried checking the tnsnames.ora ,listener.ora files but they do not exist.
Please help me.
Regards,
Danish
