ORA-08181: specified number is not a valid system change number

I'm using the following in a query that I use to build a view

scn_to_timestamp(ora_rowscn)

This worked fine for several weeks, but now all of the sudden I'm getting this error:

ORA-08181: specified number is not a valid system change number
ORA-06512: at "SYS.SCN_TO_TIMESTAMP", line 1

I'm not sure why this stopped working, or what to do to fix it. Can anyone provide some help?
