ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel?

I have Both Oracle9i Client and Server installled on one of my windows machine.
I get the ORA-03113 error when i try to configure the service name using NCA(Net Configuration Assistant).
I checked the listener.ora and tnnames.ora, seems like in good shape.Also the Listener is up and running.
Any other action need to be taken?Please help.
