ORA-02041 - usind database link

Hi,
I hope this is the right place to ask this...

I am using a query with a DBLink and it works fine through the PL\SQL developer, but when i run the same query through a VB application - i get the ORA-02041 error.

I read in a few places that a checkbox can help or a driver update.
I tried to check\uncheck a checkbox in the ODBC under control panel - not working.
I am trying to find a correct updated driver for my Oracle and i didn't find it yet.

any ideas on where can i get an updated driver or any other ideas on how to make it work???
it is making me crazy!!!
