ORA-02019 : connection description for remote database not found

user456944Oct 13 2005 — edited Oct 14 2005
Hello All,

Please see the error below I could see in the alert log file of Oracle. The below mentioned error I am getting for Oracle version 9.0.1.0.0 on Suse Linux 9.2.

This error I don't get daily but sometimes during the week. Date and time is also not fixed when this error will come. It seems from the error, some user is trying to access some database links which is not present or not working. I have checked all the database links and they are working.

I can put a trace to track the error but that will slow down the whole database and client won't accept that. Can you please suggest a way to find from where this error is coming..??? OR who is trying to access the link so that I can talk to the user and can rectify the problem.

The below mentioned error is in german langaguge, so I am pasting the english translation of the same.

Errors in file /opt/oracle/admin/gap/bdump/reco_398.trc:
ORA-02019: Verbindungsbeschreibung fur Fern-Datenbank nicht gefunden

English Translation of the error:

Fri Oct 7 07:37:15 2005
Errors in file /opt/oracle/admin/gap/bdump/reco_398.trc:
ORA-02019 : connection description for remote database not found

Please suggest a solution for this.

Regards,
Rajeev Tomar
