ORA-01658: unable to create INITIAL extent for segment in tablespace

User trying to load data into one of the tables and having this error. Tablespace has 500GB free space.

Error: ORA-01658: unable to create INITIAL extent for segment in tablespace

I did research and could find solution to add datafile or resize tablespace. Why is this error even after tablespace has 500GB free.

Help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!
