ORA-01617: cannot mount: 2 is not a valid thread number

HI All,

I havesetup a 10gR2 RAC database .
One instance is up and running in one node ;But when I am trying to start the 2nd instance in the 2nd node
it is not coming up and throwing the following error

ORA-01617: cannot mount: 2 is not a valid thread number

Plz help I am new to RAC and we hve critical testing rollout
