ora 01555 though there are free segments in undo tbs

Hello,
I have an issue with undo tablespace in 10.2.0.5 database. Undo management is set to auto, undo tablespace has 5GB, undo management is set to 15mins
I face ORA-01555 erros and I don't understand why.
The queries take longer than 15mins, that's true, but there is still a lot of free place in undo (I check it in dba_undo_extents, active and unexpired extents have moreless 1GB, expired around 500GB). According to the doc, Oracle should use free undo extents and as far as I understand I have 3,5GB free extents. Why doesn't it?
