ORA-01127 : Database name exceeds 8 characters

Hello There,

I'm facing an issue where im cloning the 2 node RAC database into single node.

I have prepared the pfile for target instance and when im starting only the instance getting the ORA-01127 error.

My target db_name=TARGETDB3 (9 Characters)

and my RAC db_name=SOURCEDB (8 characters)

instance_name 1 =SOURCEDB1 (9 Characters)

instance_name 2 =SOURCEDB2 (9 Characters)

I know db_name should be 8 char's and less but

Due to to some business reason i want the target db_name=TARGETDB3 only.

Please help me in this.
