ORA-01119

2694865Jun 16 2014 — edited Nov 25 2014

Hello,

I've been using the same alter tablespace command for 15 times now and the 16th time, I receive this message : 01119. 00000 - "error in creating database file '%s'   *Cause : Usually due to not having enough space on the device.

I quite don't understant why I receive this message. What I'm trying to do at the moment is add 20000 M DBF files to my tablespace, so all I do is change the number at the end of the alter tablespace command, but this time it won't work.

I still have over 200 GB of space on the drive. The only difference I can think of is that my tablespace reached 2 995 7776 MB with the 15th file. Is there a 3 TB tablespace limit that I am not aware of?

Here is an exempe of the command line I've been using : alter tablespace BLO1_XXXXXXX_TS_1 add datafile 'H:\Oracle\XXXXX\Data\XXXXX_PART_H_TS28.DBF' SIZE 20000 M

Like I said, I just changed 27 for 28 and it stopped working.

Thanks in advance for any replies that could enlighten me on the matter.
