ORA-01114 error

Hi,
i have a 9i database on my local machine and imported data from a client to test it.
the data is huge that the schema contains of 12 GB data.
i created 6 data files of 3gb each file in a tablespace and when i am retrieving data from some of the tables i am getting error

ORA-01114: IO error writing block to file %s (block # %s)

i am not understanding hoe to resolve this .

can anyone help me.
