ORA-01041: internal error. hostdef extension doesn't exist

441309Apr 15 2005
Hi everybody,

I have two oracle clients(9i and 10g) on my WinXP.
Could you please tell me why I'm receiving the following message when I want to connect to oracle 10g via ERWin Data Modeling. I don't have problem connecting to oracle 9i through ERWin data modeling.
This is the error message:

ORA-01041: internal error. hostdef extension doesn't exist

Besides, I can connect to oracle 10g via SQL*PLUS and Oracle EOM colsole, JDeveloper10g, and ...meaning I don't have any problem with other tools only ALLFUSION ERWin 4.

Is this the oracle problem or configuration prob?

Any help would appreciated.
Amir
