ORA-01033 ORACLE initialization or shutdown in progress

Hi,

I have this problem and I followed the instruction mentioned in the forum.. Can anybody help to solve this problem...

Here I posted what I had tried till now.

Please guide further.

SQL> connect/as sysdba
Connected.
SQL> shutdown abort
ORACLE instance shut down.
SQL> startup
ORACLE instance started.
