ORA-01017: invalid username/password

Hi All,

In my environment I am connect to my database through oracle client 10g. perviously I was able to logged in as "sys/pwd@sid as sysdba" and with application user (usernm/pwd@sid) also,but rite now I am not able to connect with sys user but through application user I am still able to connect.

I logged on to the DB server and check the its working fine at DB server or not ..but everything is okay at DB server.

I am just not able to connect through desk top which using oracle client 10g.

What could be reason that still I am able to connect with applicaton user and not with SYS user.

When ever I am trying to connect with sys user (from my desktp) it gives ORA-01017.

suggest me.
