In Regards to the following Article posted on searchoracle.com , I have the same error:
How do I "drop every object owned by the recovery catalog user "

Cheers

I am trying to install the recovery catalog after creating it. From the RMAN prompt, I typed CREATE CATALOG. It generated the following errors:
RMAN-06004: ORACLE error from recovery
database ORA-00955: name is already used by exsisting object.
RMAN-06433: error installing recovery catalog.

It also displayed an error concerning the archiving process. Please help solve this prolem.

It looks to me like your Recovery Catalog was at least partially installed. If you are sure that this recovery catalog is not in use, you can sign on to the database that holds the recovery catalog and drop every object owned by the recovery catalog user (I'm assuming that this user does not own non-RC objects). Then try to create the RC again
