ORA-00333: redo log read error block 18991 count 7290

i am not able change the status to open in sql command line.
i was initially getting an error "ORA-01033: ORACLE initialization or shutdown in progress"
for my 11G express edition release 11.2.0.2.0.
i tried to fix it by mounting the database, i was able to mount however i was not able to to alter database to open and getting an error "ORA-00333: redo log read error block 18991 count 7290 "

i am not able to connect to my sql developer app.
pls help n provide a resolution!
