ORA-00214: control file "string" version string inconsistent with .........

Hi all

i used oracle 10g , i tried to log & i got this error " oracle initialization or shutdown in progress " , i checked alert log file for errors , i found that error
ora-00214 occured
" ORA-00214: control file "string" version string inconsistent with file "string" version
string
i have to use consistent set of control files, datafiles/logfiles, and redo files.

How i do this action?
