ORA-00059

Dear all,

Am getting following error when trying to added a datafile;
*
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-00059: maximum number of DB_FILES exceeded

Tentatively I have resized an existing datafile which resolved the purpose. Backup controlfile points maxdatafiles to 200 which i have reached already. I gathered that Controlfile needs to be re-created after taking a backup.

Please kindly if any similar experiences.
