ORA-00018: maximum number of sessions exceeded

Hi

I have the processes parameter defined as 300 and the sessions parameter as 335.

I am getting frequent ORA-00018 messages. On checking the v$session view, I can see that at a time only about 20-25 active sessions are there. There are around 300 Inactive sessions.

I am unable to understand whats happening with my database.

Please advise what should I check and what could be wrong.
