Optiplex 760

have a Dell Optiplex 760 systems setup with OEL 5 x32 . i have a strange problem where at one of two points during the boot process the systems will frequently power down. One is at the 'Staring udev' point and one is at the end of the graphical boot process just at the point where the login screen would normally appear. First the monitor goes into 'power save' mode and shortly after the system unit powers off.
