OpenOffice API

Can one please tell me where and how to download the OpenOffice API?
I have tried the http://api.openoffice.org but that site is very confusing and I couldnt do anything usefull.

The java examples in the API SDK refer to com.sun.star.* but I cant seem to find the jar.
