Opening network shared links using browsers other than IE
Hi All,
Recently I have come across a hurdle with one of our applications. I am trying to open a network file from my apex application using a link. This seems to be working with IE but does not work with any other browser - like firefox, chrome or Safari. There is no response when I click the link - neither is there any error.
I reformatted the link according to the browser specification:
For IE the link is as below and it works:*
file://Sqnewfilepath/images/test.tif
The link for safari is:*
file:////Sqnewfilepath/images/test.tif
The link for firefox is:*
file://///Sqnewfilepath/images/test.tif
All this links work perfectly when I put them on a regular html page but does not seem to work through APEX.
I hope there is something on the APEX side which is stopping from opening links in other browsers. Does anybody has an insight on this issue?
