Open Office will not recognize JRE 1.6 update 5

JRE 1.6 update 5 is INSTALLATION VERIFIED.

Tools - Options - OpenOffice.org - Java
does indeed have JRE 1.6 u5 present

but ALL OpenOffice app's give DIALOG BOX :

JRE version is defective -- install or specify another

Do I need to also install JRE 1.6 update 4
or JRE 1.5 ??
