Open link of desktop navigation bar menu entry in new tab

Oliver LimbergMay 23 2018 — edited May 31 2018

Hi,

I got an menu entry in the top navigation bar called 'Help'. This entry is the parent for two other menu entries 'Manual' and 'Privacy Policy'

Each of sub entries has set the target type set to URL but I could not find a possibility to add the attribute target="_blank" to the generated link element.

I copied the default navigation bar template and added the attribute to the Sublist Entry snippets of the template and configured the navigation bar to use the new list template.

Right after teh page is loaded, the menu contains the HTML of my modified template but as soon as I click on the navigation button to open the sub menu, the HTML is modified and the target attribute is gone.

I found a suggestion in this Thread, but I cannot apply the Javascript solution since I am not able to give those menu items a static ID.

Has anyone a solution to this problem?

Best Regards

Oliver
