Onload funciton of include jsp is not invoked in the main jsp

I have a main.jsp which includes another jsp called DealsTab.jsp which has onload function in body tag. The body onload function is not invoked when I access main.jsp.
Whereas the body onload fuction is invoked if I access DealsTab.jsp seperately. Anyone could throw a light on this?

In main.jsp ,I tried both the includes but no luck.
1. <jsp:include page="DealsTab.jsp" />
2. <%@ include file="DealsTab.jsp" %>
