New to Java

Hi,

I need your opinion on a class project I am doing. It is for an online shopping store. It has been left fairly open ended as to how we do it. This is how I plan to do it.

HTML/Database using VBscript to add/delete records from the database(for registration, deletion, login, adding user comments etc.)

Java technology(possibly J2EE) for encryption(using some sort of scrambling) and decryption of customers credit card number. This would just be for payment of the item that is being bought.

What do ye think of the above idea? I just want something that will work and I think this would. Any recommended software to use for any of the above(besides Frontpage for HTML etc)?
