Online reorganization - 1TB table

DBA112Jul 27 2012 — edited Jul 30 2012
Dear Experts,

RDBMS Version - 11.1.0.7 on RHEL 5

I'm planning to perform online reorganization of a 1TB table using DBMS_REDEFINITION to reclaim space. Table has LOB column and 3.5 million records. I have about 100GB free space left in tablespace which will be used during reorganization.

can someone having real time experience please suggest if this sounds feasible? If so, what are the things I should be wary about? I believe 100GB will not be sufficient in the default tablespace? Any technique to estimate how much more free space is needed in TS?

Thanks.
