online logs needed archiving

we have 10.2.0.4 on solaris 5.10

Instance hanged coz of this reason:

MED1 - Can not allocate log, archival required
Tue Aug 18 09:46:05 2009
Thread 1 cannot allocate new log, sequence 53164
All online logs needed archiving

so,we made the below change in the environment :

increased log_archive_max_process=10
increased redlogs form 300Mb to 500Mb with additional groups..

Please advise if this is the correct solution ?
