On failure of RMAN backup job, What will happen to failed backup pieces at tape? When the tape will be released so that I can be reused?
For example I am backing up database size of 1 TB. If the Level 0 backup fails in middle of the backup, if tape will be released immediately or based on the retention policy though the backup is not completed successfully.
Is there an option to delete failed RMAN backups at the tape ?
If there any failed oracle database backup how and when does the tape media will be freed up.
Is that based on Oracle RMAN Tape retention?
