OLVM/KVM on OL8 - Supported database versions?

I am prepping for an OVM to OLVM/KVM migration and am having a tough time deciding if I need to baseline my OLVM and KVM servers at OL7 instead of OL8. This virtualization matrix shows KVM on OL8 as only supporting database versions 19.x and 21.x. This makes me think I need to baseline at OL7 since our databases are at version 18.x.

My questions are, am I interpreting this correctly? Could I baseline at OL8 with 18.x as the database versions?

I would prefer not to use OL7 since it's end of life next year. Thank you for your time!
