Hello Everybody ,

I tried installing oracle 11g R2 Rac in my local machine using virtual box . I followed this document http://www.oracle-base.com/articles/11g/oracle-db-11gr2-rac-installation-on-oel5-using-virtualbox.php.

DETAILS:

HOST: UBUNTU 12.04

GUEST OS : OEL 5.8 64bit

Problem:

While running root.sh in the second node i got the below error but it ended succesfully .

ERROR MESSAGE:
*============*

PRCR-1079 : Failed to start resource ora.scan1.vip
CRS-5005: IP Address: 192.168.1.225 is already in use in the network
CRS-2674: Start of 'ora.scan1.vip' on 'ol5-112-rac3' failed
CRS-2632: There are no more servers to try to place resource 'ora.scan1.vip' on that would satisfy its placement policy

start scan ... failed
Configure Oracle Grid Infrastructure for a Cluster ... failed
Updating inventory properties for clusterware
Starting Oracle Universal Installer...

Checking swap space: must be greater than 500 MB. Actual 5023 MB Passed
The inventory pointer is located at /etc/oraInst.loc
The inventory is located at /u01/app/oraInventory
'UpdateNodeList' was successful.

After the installation when i issue olsnodes i can see only one node from the both node could you please help me .

FROM NODE 2 :

[oracle@ol5-112-rac3 ~]$ olsnodes
ol5-112-rac3
[oracle@ol5-112-rac3 ~]$

FROM NODE 1 :

[oracle@ol5-112-rac1 ~]$ olsnodes
ol5-112-rac1
[oracle@ol5-112-rac1 ~]$

I am stuck up in the middle .Any help would be greatly appreciated .
