OL certification

Billy VerreynneNov 28 2011 — edited Nov 29 2011
A question that is likely better asked directly from Oracle account management - but getting them to respond at times is like puling the teeth of a chicken. ;-)

Had a quick look at HP and Dell x86 rack servers. These are typically certified for Windows, and the RHEL and Suse Linux distros.

How does OL fit into this ito certification and support? What guarantees do a customer have running OL on kit that has been certified for RHEL for example? If a nasty OL kernel or driver bug is hit, what recourse would there be?

Hi marty,
then what good is "Premier Support"?
Might be oracle is saying that any more bugs in this version will not be solved not be supported.

Anyways i suggest you to upgrade it to latest version by applying cumulative patch 8 or later. Here is the patch details and information on it.
