OJDBC driver cannot handle leading/trailing space characters in password

  1. in sqlplus console, create one user with leading password
    1. create user test1 identified by " oracle";
    2. grant dba to test1;
  2. Can login sucessfully,
    1. sqlplus test1/\"\ oracle\"
  3. Try with oracle “sqldeveloper” or any JDBC based connection. nothing works. jdbc driver: ojdbc8-21.7.0.0.jar
