OIM trusted Recon - and approval

Hi,

I have trusted recon working from let's say an HR system - i.e. creates and enables (set as Active) the OIM users. Now, I need to add an approval process before the user gets enabled, i.e. the OIM record is created with status disabled, send a notification. The approver would then go in to set the OIM user as Active. Is this possible and if so, how. I tried a few things but the the approval process does not kick in?
