OIM 10g

We want to use OIM 10g to maintain database accounts with LDAP as the repository. I have briefly went through the install guide to learn the installation which requires either Oracle AS or Weblogic and a repository database. I am also looking at connectors for the database. Has anyone implemented this? How does this work?
Any pointers to similar discussion would help.
