OIC Connectivity Agent bug

pradcMar 15 2025

We recently discovered an issue with OIC Gen 3 Connectivity agents when doing an export/import from one OIC instance to another. We have a Prod and DR OIC Gen 3 instance, in Phoenix and Ashburn respectively. We were able to start up the agents in the DR instance right after the instance was provisioned.

We then setup jobs to export metadata from prod, and import that metadata backup into DR. Starting with Gen3, you need to cleanup integrations, connections, libraries, certificates and lookups in the target instance before initiating the import process else it won't initiate the import.

After we did our first export, clean up in DR and then import, the process completed with warnings. On investigation, we discovered that the connectivity agent groups and connectivity agents that we had configured previously were gone. We did not clean these up as part of our import process. Nothing in the connectivity agent logs, and the agents were still running.

We created a new agent group, and tried to kill and restart the connectivity agent. It would not start. We had to download a new InstallerProfile.cfg to start up the agent, but no agent would show up in OIC observability pages.

Since this was our DR region, we opened a Sev 1, and discovered there is already a bug 37699330 that is being worked by Product Development. Until this is resolved, we are at risk if ever we have to failover to our DR region. Just sharing this info here in case anyone else runs into this. Will post an update when this is resolved.

You better address such a question to an official Oracle sales representative. All informations you can get here (or somewhere else in the web) are only opinions.

Dear members,

I would like to know how the ASFU (Application Specific Full Use) Licensing works.
As far as I know, each ASFU is custom. You need to negotiate how it will work.
