OEM - Data guard Standby - Creation in Progress

jamie2teachFeb 17 2012 — edited Feb 17 2012
Hi all,

I started a Dataguard Standby Database creation using the OEM tool and was wondering if there is a way of monitoring the process. I don't mean through OEM either. It does give a remotely detailed output of the creation steps and you can drill down to each of the steps and get even more detail there. The problem is one of the steps - "Create Standby Database" is taking forever! 1 Day and 20 hours so far. It is not a paticularllly big database, I think 15GB in total. Granted the link between primary and standby hosts isn't great but I thought it would be completed by now. The first stages of moving files across took a while but the stage which it is stuck at now is taking a longggggggggg time.

When looking in the details of the step "Create Standby Database" it is at the stage -

dgcreate.DGrecoverStby102: ALTER DATABASE RECOVER MANAGED STANDBY DATABASE UNTIL CHANGE 8943588044

I of course know of the significance of the command but how can I find out how far away, if actually shipping the logs, it is until completion?

Thanks to all reply.
