OEM agent confused after daylight savings time change and will not start

628581Mar 14 2008 — edited Sep 29 2009
Hello,

My OEM agent is not starting after the daylight saving time change. It's aborting with the following error ...

# emctl start agent
Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g Release 10.2.0.1.0.
Copyright (c) 1996, 2005 Oracle Corporation. All rights reserved.
Starting agent ..... failed.
The agentTZRegion value in /u01/oracle/product/agent10g/sysman/config/emd.properties is not in agreement with what agent thinks it should be.Please verify your environment to make sure that TZ setting has not changed since the last start of the agent.
If you modified the timezone setting in the environment, please stop the agent and exectute 'emctl resetTZ agent' and also execute the script mgmt_target.set_agent_tzrgn(<agent_name>, <new_tz_rgn>) to get the value propagated to repository.
Consult the log files in: /u01/oracle/product/agent10g/sysman/log
#

The timezone is set to EST5EDT in the system and I put it into the emd.properties file. (agentTZRegion=EST5EDT)

This is what it thinks I have ...

# emctl config agent getTZ
Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g Release 10.2.0.1.0.
Copyright (c) 1996, 2005 Oracle Corporation. All rights reserved.
America/New_York
#

I'm not in NewYork and I have no idea where this is coming from.

(This machine is AIX 5.3.)

If anyone out there has any ideas on how I can fix this and start up the agents, that would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
