OEL7 and 70-persistent-net.rules; ensX v. eth0

User_JWI80Aug 28 2019 — edited Aug 29 2019

Hello everyone!

Does anyone know what the right procedure is to change from  ensX type of interface names to the traditional  ethX  in OEL7 ?

I've applied this procedure in MOS, but it does not work as described:

Even after applying     grub2-mkconfig -o /boot/grub2/grub.cfg    explained in this link and all images are updated with the entries:

          https://sites.google.com/site/syscookbook/rhel/rhel-network-interface-rename-rhel7

                         net.ifnames=0 biosdevname=0

after rebooting, the interface still comes back up as     ensX   named interface.

Does anyone know how to resolve this issue?

Thanks
