OEL 6.1 DNS problem

Hi all,

I have local DNS server configured it works fine and my Linux machines
are also haven't problem with this DNS.
But when DNS server (separate machine) goes down for
some reason all other machines work slowly for example when I run mc or go to init 5
with startx command it take very long time. After DNS server reboot is completed all machines in network
came back to normal life.
Please help if anyone faces this problem also.

P.S. In my Linux machines network interfaces parameters
I set "DNS1= LOCALDNSIP" if I change this or remove this problem will not occur but unfortunately I need this parameter :)
